Print FAQs

Common questions about our printing services, from preparing artwork through to production and delivery.

Do you print in house?
Short answer: Yes! Both our Auckland and Wellington branches have high-speed, state-of-the-art Fujifilm digital print equipment. We don’t like to skite, but we can print nearly 1 million A4 pages a day! However, not all jobs suit the digital print platform, mostly from an economic perspective (very large jobs are often cheaper using traditional offset equipment). We assess each job individually and always suggest the solution that best suits our clients’ needs.
Variable data printing allows each printed piece to include personalised content such as names, offers, QR codes, or messages tailored to the recipient. This is widely used for targeted marketing campaigns and personalised communications.
The term bleed refers to an image or colour running off the edge of a page. The proper way to achieve bleed is to print the design on a slightly larger sheet of paper and then trim it to the final size so the image extends right to the edge. To create this effect, the image in the electronic file must also extend beyond the edge of the page.

Our digital printers can print on most paper stocks between 52gsm and 400gsm, with a maximum sheet size of 330mm x 1200mm. We carry a range of in-house stocks and can also source specialty papers if you have something unique in mind.

Absolutely. We can create a variety of metallic effects using gold and silver, and we can even print with white and bright pink inks. Let us know if you’d like to see our special designer guide for inspiration.
