VTNZ is the largest provider of vehicle safety assessments in New Zealand with 81 branches nationwide.
Over 100 different print and promotional products were available for branches to order online via an existing print portal (Print on Demand).
VTNZ were looking to increase their technical coverage by ensuring branches had better access and control of their print management.
As a part of an RFP process in 2017, Orangebox proposed the implementation of our online print store front, Orangepod to meet VTNZ’s needs.
Orangepod is a secure user-friendly system that is ideal for multi branch businesses and organisations that are looking to keep all of their print and promotional products in one easily accessible place.
It provides easy to manage cost allocation and recovery, simplified ordering and reordering. It is also very easy to navigate and has an automated proofing and sign off process. The system also allows for unlimited users.
We customised Orangepod to VTNZ’s brand so that users felt they were still within the VTNZ network.
We added over 100 print and promotional items and provided access to over 300 users nationwide.
One of VTNZ’s requirements was that users could access the portal by being logged into their network, therefore removing the need for multiple log ins to access Orangepod. The integration of a SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) user name and password allowed for a single sign on, making the system even more user friendly.
When a user places an order, the shipping costs are automatically calculated, and the order is processed the following morning at 9:30am.
The Automated Workflow Integrator (AWI) downloads and sends the files to the print platform and generates a packing slip for each order placed daily. From this point the production team prints the order and matches it with a pick & pack slip. Orders are collected by courier at 4pm each day and delivered to the user/branch within 1-3
days, depending on the location in New Zealand.
Training was made available to VTNZ however, the system is so easy to use that very limited training was required.
Our feedback from VTNZ is that users agree the system is easy to use and they have noticed a significant decrease in issues and errors which their marketing team needs to address.
They also commented that users have found Orangepod very easy to navigate when searching for products and finalising orders, with a seamless save and reorder process.
The system is constantly being developed and managed to ensure that we meet the client’s ever developing needs.
Due to the successful implementation of Orangepod, Orangebox was invited to participate in a further RFP for VTNZ’s point of sale and merchandise, which we were successful in winning. This was a completely separate pitch to the original RFP and allowed us to extend our service offering further by utilising Orangepod to manage this collateral.
