Automated Fundraising and Reward Fulfilment for Coastguard’s Big Swim

Coastguard Tautiaki Moana organises a charity event called The Big Swim. This incentive-driven fundraising campaign encourages participants to swim a set number of kilometres to raise money for Coastguard. As swimmers reach specific milestones, they receive gifts, incentivising them to continue swimming and achieve higher donation targets.

Objective

To implement a more efficient, real-time online process to take away the stress of extracting data, manually sorting in spreadsheets, stock reporting and courier tracking, and create a positive result for the swimmers participating.

The objective of the campaign was to generate vital fundraising support for Coastguard to sustain and enhance its maritime search and rescue operations, ensuring the safety of all water users. It also aimed to raise public awareness of the essential services Coastguard provides and highlight the importance of maritime safety for everyone spending time on the water. In addition, the campaign sought to strengthen community engagement by encouraging participation in The Big Swim, showcasing the invaluable contribution of volunteers and reinforcing the collective responsibility required to keep our waterways safe.
